More promotions for Sooyang Do Martial Art Students
February ends on a high for Instructors and Students ..............
First of all, we would like to congratulate everyone involved in our belt examinations, on 28th February 2016, particularly those who achieved promotion to the next level. The technical standard was commendably high and, although Master Wood identified a few technical areas which could be improved upon, our instructors will continue to strive to eradicate any faults or misunderstandings, thereby further increasing the benefits of Sooyang Do for the students themselves.
We would also, once more, like to thank all of the examiners, instructors, volunteers, junior leaders, students and parents alike for making our events such a huge success and we are already looking forward to the next examinations in May 2016.
For those who are perhaps unaware, Ms Hart has recently opened a new Sooyang Do school in Torphins. This new school is already proving to be extremely successful, with some 20 new students attending within the first three weeks.
Mr& Mrs McIver have recently opened a Sooyang Do class for pre-school children at Curl Aberdeen. This experimental class will concentrate on providing a fun introduction to Sooyang Do without the need for technical appraisal or syllabus, which will hopefully lead to the youngsters enrolling in the more advanced class when they are sufficiently mature.
Some Sooyang Do clubs have decided to open their doors to the general public, should they wish to participate in a Sooyang Do class to benefit Sports Relief. This opportunity runs from 14th- 19th March 2016 and is being offered at the following clubs:

We would like to extend a warm welcome to two new trainee instructors- Mr Peter Hepburn and Miss Kirsty Finnie (both Westhill) and hope they go on to become successful instructors in the future.
Mrs McIver has also recently announced the promotion of three young students at her Portlethen club to the role of “Junior Leader”, thereby helping to ensure the continued development of Sooyang Do in the future.
To conclude (for the moment) we are holding our annual all-night Sooyang Do workout or “focusmittathon”on the 23rd April in aid of Clan. All students are welcome to attend for a short or long period, in aid of this well deserving charitable cause.
